Objectives
Principal objectives of these pages are:
1. To celebrate our ancestors and kinships
2. To encourage the exchange of accurate information concerning our
shared genealogies.
Tips on "doing genealogy"
I find myself sometimes, within a single week, sending out very similar sets of general tips on "doing genealogy" to several different people who have landed on one of my genealogy web pages and got in touch with relatively generalised queries. My cousin - another genealogy obsessive - has the same experience. We thought it could be helpful to store some of these more generalised pieces of our experience based advice on a single web page. You can find that page by clicking here on Genealogy Tips
If you did that and found something that was helpful, and that you had not yet thought
of or discovered elsewhere for yourself, I am glad. Of course, if you found
something on it which you found to be incorrect, I should be grateful to know of it.

Two Websites?
Webpages relating to the compilers' maternal side genealogy, together with any linked pictures, biographical notes, etc, are on the Kittybrewster website created and 'webmastered' by kinsman Sir William Arbuthnot, Bt. Webpages relating to the compilers' paternal side genealogy are located separately. For most purposes, connections between the two sets of webpages should be seamless. The compiler is grateful to Sir William both for developing the format of these pages and for the massive amount of enthusiasm, work and wisdom he applies to researching our shared family genealogy.
